ESTIA engineer, Cybersecurity and Industrial Data course

In a nutshell

The ESTIA ENGINEER course in Cybersecurity and Industrial Data is offered under an apprenticeship contract. It lasts 3 years and is free and paid (the apprenticeship contract is a work-study contract).

Over the 3 years of the course, most of the teaching (3 semesters) takes place at the CFAI Aquitaine training centre (Bordeaux / Bruges), with 3 semesters of classes taking place at ESTIA on the Bidart site.

The course is accredited by the C.T.I. (Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur), and the diploma awarded is that of an ESTIA engineer (Ecole Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées) in Cybersecurity and Industrial Data, in partnership with the CFAI, Centre de Formation aux Métiers de l'Industrie d'Aquitaine.

AN INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION

The compulsory work placement abroad during the course is an exciting experience, essential for an engineer's career and for obtaining the diploma. It can last for a minimum of 12 weeks, which can be split up.

Course content

The generalist training of ESTIA engineers is supported by professional practice in companies. The apprenticeship contract allows the industrial world and its specific requirements to be taken into account, by meeting the needs of SMEs, ETIs and large groups for versatile engineers with a good scientific and technical level, with a strong emphasis on Mechatronics and Embedded Systems.

The ESTIA engineer on this Cybersecurity and Industrial Data pathway is first and foremost a practitioner of :

  • production organisation,
  • improving and digitalising the supply chain,
  • the deployment of the information systems that enable them to be managed

Their knowledge of the industrial professions and the way companies operate enables them to implement tools, methods and strategies to preserve the integrity of information, as well as the availability of the infrastructures and resources needed for the professions in industry.

This engineer will therefore have multiple approaches, one business-related to the industrial sector in which he or she operates and the other technical to preserve, secure and develop the information system for the production tool.

His or her job is at the crossroads of technology, production, communication and user training, thanks to the support of reference organisations such as ANSSI, Campus Cybersécurité, etc. He or she will be able to prevent and react to attacks, and increase the availability and security of the information system.
